Round Up of New Homes in Ayrshire

May 9 2012

Ayrshire has always been popular with homebuyers and with the recently completed M77 road link significantly reducing the commute to Glasgow, this shows little sign of changing.  House hunters looking to find a property in the west of Scotland won’t be disappointed by the selection of new homes on offer in the area.

Among the current choice of new-build properties for sale in Ayrshire is Barratt Homes‘ Grangewood development in Kilwinning.  First-time buyers, growing families and downsizers are all catered for in this collection of two- and three-bedroom houses and four-bedroom townhouses.  Each home has a contemporary design and prices range from £155,995 for a three-bedroom end terrace property to £176,995 for a four-bedroom townhouse with breakfasting kitchen and a garage.  Families will be pleased to find a good choice of both primary and secondary schools nearby.

Situated around 15 miles east of Ayr, Cherrytrees in Cumnock is a Stewart Milne Homes development with a luxurious character.  Boasting an excellent specification, this development of four- and five-bedroom homes is sure to impress.  Two house types are currently available at Cherrytrees, including the four-bedroom ‘Thorntonhall’, which is priced from £249,995 and features a separate lounge and formal dining room as well as an open plan kitchen/family/dining area with French doors leading to the rear garden.  Two en-suite bedrooms and a ‘bonus room’ which would make a great den or playroom make this perfect for family life.

Buyers on a tighter budget will appreciate the range of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes priced from £96,995 to £204,995 at The Ivy in Kilmarnock.  Properties at the Persimmon Homes development include the ‘Stronnach’ apartment, a stylish home that has a lounge with bay window, separate kitchen, two bedrooms and bathroom, with private parking included. At the other end of the scale, the ‘Wexford’ is a four-bedroom detached house with dining room, study and a master bedroom with en suite and fitted wardrobes.

Ladykirk Place is a David Wilson Homes development in Monkton on the outskirts of Prestwick.  Six different styles of three-, four- and five-bedroom properties are still available here with prices starting from £156,995 for a three-bedroom semi-detached home.  The house builder’s usual high standard specification can be seen throughout the development and in features such as a private garage, en-suites and gardens.  The tranquil countryside setting provides a rural feel despite the proximity of these new homes in Scotland to Prestwick and the amenities the town has to offer.

Part Exchange Offers a Quick Way to Move

April 6 2011

In the current property market, many would-be house buyers are being put off moving due to the stress of selling their existing home. However, an easy solution for buyers wishing to upgrade into new-build homes in Scotland is a part exchange scheme, available from many house builders across Scotland. Part exchange means that when the buyer purchases a new property, the house builder will in turn buy  their old house as part payment towards their new home.

Being able to benefit from such schemes is just one of the many advantages of buying a new-build property and part exchange has proven to be a popular incentive for those longing to make a quick and hassle-free move.

Part exchange has several benefits to the buyer: there is no chain, therefore no concerns about someone pulling out of a sale; there are no estate agents’ fees to pay; the stress of selling a house is eradicated and the buyer can often stay in their existing home until the new one is ready to move into, as the purchases are co-ordinated to go through at the same time, meaning there are no expensive bridging costs to be paid.

Edinburgh Based Workers have the Pick of Commuter Towns

March 23 2011

According to the last census, around 85,000 people regularly commute from towns and villages around Edinburgh to work in the city. While many people love the convenience of living close to their workplace, for others new homes for sale in Edinburgh hold little appeal and it is preferable instead to find a property away from the hustle and bustle of city life and commute.

The reasons for this are numerous and include remaining close to family and friends, preferring to live in a rural area to raise children and enjoy the open air and the general belief that it is possible to get more for your money outwith a major city. Many new-build developments in areas such as Fife, Lothian and the Borders offer a chance to live away from the hectic city yet are within an hour’s drive of the Scottish capital.
