There are currently plenty of new homes in Scotland aimed at first-time buyers. And, more than just a great choice of one- and two-bedroom starter homes, many of the properties also come with a range of incentives from housebuilders to help first-time buyers get a foot on the property ladder.

Shared equity is available on selected plots and the company offers a part exchange scheme for those with a property to sell. The development comprises two-bedroom apartments as well as two- and three-bedroom houses; the two-bedroom apartments feature separate kitchen and living rooms, en suite to the master bedroom and an allocated parking space. Bathgate, just a mile from the M8, is ideally placed for commuting to both Edinburgh and Glasgow, with Edinburgh around 20 miles away
In Aberdeenshire, Stewart Milne Homes is offering its special First Time Buyers Plan at Broadshade, in Westhill. Barratt Homes also offers a range of schemes to help first-time buyers get on the property ladder at Ochilview in Maddison, near Falkirk. Ochilview is situated within a convenient distance of Falkirk town centre and makes an ideal location for commuters to Edinburgh, Glasgow or Stirling. The development comprises a range of three-, four- and five-bedroom houses with prices starting from £145,995.
For first-time buyers after lively city living in the capital, AMA Homes‘ Printhouse development, situated in the Canonmills area in the north of Edinburgh, offers a collection of contemporary one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments. Prices start at £185,000 at this converted print works building, for which purchasers will enjoy plenty of light through large windows and an airy feel thanks to an open-plan layout. Bathroom feature a walk-in shower while residents also benefit from a communal garden and secure, allocated parking.
