June 6 2011

Only five homes remain on the market at Redrow Homes‘ luxury Graemeslea development in Aberuthven and generous incentives on offer means that interested parties will have to move quickly to bag one of the executive five-bedroom villas.

Firstly, the house builder is offering a massive saving of up to £40,000 on selected properties at the Perthshire developmentt, with five-bedroom detached homes available from as little as £347,000. Three different house styles are still available at Graemeslea, all of which have been designed with 21st century family life in mind.  Main features include a large kitchen/breakfasting/family room, a separate dining room, living room, a master bedroom that has not only its own en-suite but also the luxury of a walk-in wardrobe, a second bedroom that also benefits from built-in wardrobes and en-suite facilities, three further bedrooms, a utility room, downstairs cloakroom and garage.

With its picturesque countryside, excellent schools and abundance of outdoor pursuits on offer, Perthshire is a fantastic location in which to bring up a family.  Aberuthven also has a good selection of local shops and amenities, while the world-renowned Gleneagles Golf & Country Club is also nearby, providing a haven for adults to relax and unwind. April 15 2011

Buyers on the lookout  for new homes in Glasgow and the surrounding area should visit Lenzie this weekend as Redrow Homes opens a trio of new show homes at its Woodilee Village development. Woodilee Village has already proved popular with buyers of new homes in Scotland, with over 20 properties at the site already taken, but this Saturday 16th April sees three new show homes being launched with an exciting family fun day.

The Elvis Cleaning Company

The team from the Elvis Cleaning Company will bring their interpretation of the King's hits to the launch of 3 new show houses at the Woodilee Village development

The new show homes have all been professionally dressed by a team of interior designers and a group of Elvis impersonators from The Elvis Cleaning Company will be at the development performing a selection of hits from the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll at the event.

The event will also feature a jazz band and guitarist, beauty therapists, a balloon modeller, clown and magician, ensuring that adults and children alike have something to entertain them. Adding to the retro theme of the event, those visiting the development can jump on a vintage 1951 bus for a ride around Woodilee Village and into the town of Lenzie. The homes at Woodilee Village come from Redrow’s New Heritage Collection and combine a traditional Arts and Crafts exterior style still popular in the 1950s with a modern, high-spec interior.

Woodilee Village from Redrow

The selection of homes at Woodilee Village comes from Redrow's New Heritage Collection and start at just £125,000

“Our spacious homes are full of family-friendly features, including convivial open-plan layouts and the modern day essential en-suite to master bedroom,” says Mary McHutchison, sales manager for Redrow Homes (Scotland). “Kitchens in the homes at Woodilee are both stylish and practical, with the convenience of integrated top brand-name appliances plus tall units and extra wide drawers that offer plenty of storage. Celebrity chef John Quigley will put our kitchens to the test with a cookery demonstration at the launch.”

Mary adds: “We expect to see high numbers of visitors at the launch of our show homes and will be pulling out all the stops to ensure it’s a real family affair. We’ll also be offering them champagne and canapes plus tea, coffee and cupcakes.”

Couple Finds Dream Home with Redrow

April 12 2011

As retirement approaches, many people will reconsider their options and may choose to find a property to live in that will help them enjoy their new lifestyle to the full. Many new homes in Scotland are bought by recently retired people due to the numerous advantages of new-build property over re-sale homes, one of which is the lack maintenance needed to upkeep the property.

With family connections in the scenic Fife area, Bill and Mary Henderson decided to return to Scotland to live after retiring.  Their search of the local property market led them to Redrow Homes‘ Middlebank Rise development in Dunfermline. Before they visited the scheme, they were considering buying an older property that needed a fair bit of work doing to bring it up to their standard.

Bill and Mary Henderson

Retirees Bill and Mary Henderson outside their new Redrow home at Middlebank Rise in Dunfermline

“We were living in a three-bedroom detached property in Norfolk, which we bought as a new-build and decided that as we had both retired we wanted to move back to Fife, where we have family,” Bill explains. “We looked at second-hand properties but when we thought about how much they would cost we realised we would be giving up our old home for something that wasn’t as good.”

“When we went into the ‘Skelmorlie’ show home at Middlebank Rise we fell in love with it and we knew it was the style of house we wanted to buy. Mary said straight away that she had found her dream kitchen as she loves the tall units, extra wide drawers and built-in appliances. While the rooms in some of the other properties we looked at seemed small, the rooms here are a good size,” enthuses Bill.

The couple decided to purchase the same four-bedroom ‘Skelmorlie’ detached house style as the show home, which is part of Redrow’s acclaimed New Heritage Collection of Arts and Crafts-inspired properties.

Bill says of the development: “The houses are all different designs and even though they are still building it looks neat and tidy and it feels like a community already.”

He adds: “We’re not planning to move again but if we did we wouldn’t buy second hand. Buying a home that’s brand spanking new means we don’t have any concerns about repairs and will make sure everything is well looked after.”

The four-bedroom ‘Skelmorlie’ villa, boasting en suite facilities to the master bedroom and a separate utility room off the kitchen is currently available at Middlebank Rise from £189,000. Two show homes are open daily from 10am to 5.30pm at the development.

Redrow Puts Show Home Up For Sale

March 31 2011

Although one of the benefits of new-build properties is that they are already tastefully decorated when you move in, many buyers still wish to put their own stamp on their new home, and every home needs furniture. Home buyers searching for new homes in Glasgow and the surrounding area may be interested to know that Redrow Homes has recently put its four-bedroom ‘Forth’ show home at its Riverside Point development to the west of the city o the market.

Riverside Point from Redrow

The 'Forth' 4-bed show home is now up for sale at Redrow's Riverside Point for £219,000

The show home has been fitted out and decorated by a team of professional interior designers, meaning you’ll be desperate to invite guests to see your new pad as soon has you’ve moved in. Situated in Braehead, the home is priced at £219,000, which includes the carpets, curtains, light fittings and landscaped gardens.  There is even the added possibility of purchasing the furniture as well, which might be especially interesting to first time buyers or investors looking to rent out a fully furnished home.

“Show homes not only showcase the quality of our properties and the layout of the designs, but also provide interior design inspiration for homeowners,” says Mary McHutchison, sales manager for Redrow Homes (Scotland). “Many people try to replicate the looks created by our stylists but whoever buys the ‘Forth’ at Riverside Point will get the show home look without the effort.”

Spread over three storeys, the ‘Forth’ house type is a family home to be proud of. The ground floor comprises a bedroom/study, utility room and shower room. An open-plan kitchen and dining area with a separate lounge make up the first floor, while a family bathroom and three further bedrooms, including the master bedroom with en-suite facilities, are on the top floor.

The show home is by no means the only property for sale at Riverside Point.  Those looking for a different style of home or who relish the thought of brandishing a paintbrush and picking their own colours won’t be disappointed by the range of other properties available at the development, including two- and three-bedroom apartments, two-bedroom houses and some four-bedroom homes. Redrow’s standard high-specification interiors feature on every home, with stylish kitchens boasting brand-name appliances and sleek floor-to-ceiling units and delightful bathrooms and en-suite rooms.

The ‘Forth’ show home at Riverside Point is open to view from 10am to 5.30pm daily, so potential buyers have a chance to see exactly what they’re getting for their money.

Redrow’s Homes Fly Off the Market

March 16 2011

Three of Redrow Homes’ developments of new homes in Scotland in the east of the country’s central belt have recently enjoyed a huge surge in interest . Buyers in the area have been purchasing homes with such enthusiasm at Graemeslea in Aberuthven, The Potteries in Prestonpans and Optima in Edinburgh that just a few properties are still available at each site.  This means homebuyers interested in bagging one of these homes need to act quickly.

Graemeslea from Redrow Homes

Just five 5-bed family homes remain unsold at Redrow's Graemeslea scheme in Aberuthven, Perthshire, priced from £347,000

“The sales success we have seen at these three developments shows that despite the doom and gloom in the media about the economic climate there’s still a demand for quality-built homes,” says Mary McHutchison, sales manager for Redrow Homes (Scotland). “By offering the right product, in the right place and at the right price we’ve been able to capture a significant slice of the market, offering house hunters a choice of city centre apartments, large and luxurious homes and everything in between.”

Set close to the stunning Perthshire countryside, the Graemeslea development enjoys a peaceful location. Only five properties remain for sale here, each of which is complete and ready to move into.  The five-bedroom detached family homes are priced from £347,000. Upgrading buyers with a home to sell could benefit from Redrow’s part exchange scheme and find themselves able to move in sooner than they might think. This free property valuation tool can give you an up-to-date estimate of the value of your existing home.

Graemeslea from Redrow

The 'Chatsworth' 5-bed house design costs from £357,000 at Graemeslea

Just three homes are still available at The Potteries in Prestonpans. The development is ideal for house hunters looking to find a property that provides a happy medium between country life and city convenience. The Potteries accomplishes this, with Edinburgh city centre being only 10 miles away, while the village itself has a warm, family-friendly community atmosphere. Two-bedroom apartments here cost from £133,000, with three-bedroom homes priced from £165,000.

Perfect for those hunting for a starter home, the three remaining two-bedroom apartments at Optima in Edinburgh are available from £130,000. The development is close to the city centre and good public transport links are already established.

“It could cost up to £30,000 to bring an older three-bedroom property up to the same standard of one of our new homes,” Mary explains. “Our customers don’t have to worry about DIY or inheriting someone else’s decor, but will enjoy the peace of mind of a 10-year ‘Buildmark’ warranty. Plus because new-build homes are designed to be energy efficient, with central heating and double glazing as standard, they’re potentially cheaper to run than their second-hand counterparts.”

She concludes: “If you want to snap up one of the final properties at Graemeslea, The Potteries or Optima you should act fast to avoid disappointment.”

Redrow Part Exchange Scheme Helps Buyers Move Quickly

February 21 2011

After the birth of their daughter Grace, Steven and Alexis Ayling started thinking about moving to a larger house, but they weren’t sure the housing market was strong enough for them to sell their three-bedroom Saltcoats property and also find the perfect family home. However, with plenty of new homes for sale in Ayrshire, the search went on.

“We went to look at the Redrow show home at Whitehirst Grange in Kilwinning and thought it looked lovely,” says Steven, “but didn’t think that we would be able to sell our old home in the current climate. Linda, the sales consultant, explained about part-exchange and how it would help us move up the property ladder.”

The Ayling family

The Aylings in their new home at Redrow's Whitehirst Grange, bought with the company's Part Exchange scheme

By providing a guaranteed buyer for the existing home, Redrow Homes’ Part Exchange scheme takes a lot of stress out of moving house. There is no need to worry about prospective buyers dropping out due to a broken chain and, with no estate agent fees to pay, you’ll save a small fortune.

Steven adds: “Part-exchange couldn’t have been easier, it was absolutely brilliant. Everyone says that the most stressful things are getting married, having a baby and moving house. I’ve moved house before and it has been stressful, but this time it wasn’t at all.”

The Aylings now live in Kilwinning and have a lovely family home on Redrow’s Whitehirst Grange development. The couple opted for the ‘Roadford’ house style for its spacious rooms and family-friendly layout, from range of three- and four-bedroom homes available at the semi-rural Whitehirst Grange.

“Our home features Redrow’s newest specification interiors and you can tell how they’ve improved on the designs. They’re more modern and the family, kitchen and dining area is cracking!” says Steven.

Steven and Alexis are thrilled to be in their new home and relish the little touches that come with purchasing a new-build property. “The house we were in before was two years old when we moved in and, while no house is perfect, it’s the little things that make a difference, like the walls being white rather than magnolia,” explains Steven.

A new show home is open Thursday to Monday from 10am to 5.30pm at Whitehirst Grange. The part exchange scheme is available on selected homes at the development and, provided criteria are met, Redrow can usually make an offer within 48 hours.
