Ayrshire New Homes – Who Needs to Be a Millionaire?

July 19 2011

Ayrshire residents Colin and Christine Weir, who just last week won a record-breaking £161 million on the Euromillions lottery, have publicly stated that they had no intention of moving from their modest three-bedroom detached home and buying a new one with their new-found fortune. If they change their mind, however, they’ll find plenty of choice of new homes in Ayrshire on offer at the moment and other homebuyers without those millions in the bank can still find a high-quality new-build property in the area.

In the Weir’s home town of Largs, Mactaggart & Mickel HomesThe Rise development has a number of home designs available. A three-bedroom home costs £186,911 up-front with the company’s Homebuyer Plan, an 85%/15% shared equity scheme. A four-bedroom detached villa has an up-front price of £212,496 with the same scheme. The site is located just north of the town centre in this appealing coastal resort, which is only 30 miles from Glasgow.
